ORA’s story

“ I had a life-changing moment during a work trip where I spent hours in an Air France lounge, gazing at a world map with half of it plunged in darkness and half illuminated. This sparked the idea for ORA – a live map represented on a globe. After trials and research, the solution of a projector and “fisheye” lens was found. With the advancements in projector technology, we were able to create a stunning image of a rotating, half-lit earth. Our device is not limited to earth representation, it’s suitable for a variety of uses – from museums to corporate spaces. That’s the start of the ORA journey. “

The team

ORA team combines technical and creative expertise, from creative directors, motion graphic designers to optical engineers. 


  PHILIPPE WALTER

   President & Founder
After graduating from the École Normale Supérieure (ENS), Philippe co-founded Les Films du Kiosque, producing over 30 feature films. He later launched a tech training company acquired by Eurosites, where he became Marketing and IT Director and contributed to its merger with Châteauform in 2017. With more than 20 years in events and digital, he founded ORA in 2022, specializing in innovative spherical projection systems for immersive experiences.

  ADRIEN LANNE

   Lead Developer
Adrien Lanne is a 3D computer science engineer, graduated from École Polytechnique and ETH Zurich. Passionate about interactive rendering and physical simulation, he designs innovative visual experiences that combine scientific precision with creativity. At ORA, he develops software for the interactive sphere and oversees IT maintenance.

  PARIS DOUADY

   Software R&D Manager
Pâris Douady, a dual Mathematics and Computer Science graduate from Paris-Sud University, is a seasoned software developer. After working at Leboncoin on search technologies and winning several coding competitions, he now leads development of ORA’s real-time spherical rendering engine and touch detection system, leveraging GPU performance to push technical innovation.

  MARINE DUPLAN

   Operations Manager
Marine Dupant is a hospitality professional with 10 years of experience in Australia developing wine bars, combining a strong work ethic with a sharp sense of customer service. She continued her career in New York as a project manager in a PR agency. At ORA, she leads international projects with a multitasking approach, bringing sensory experiences to life through her passion for new technologies.

  JEANNE VIQUERAT

   Sales & Marketing
Jeanne Viquerat holds a Master’s degree from IPAG Business School and specializes in communication and marketing. At ORA, she manages brand communication, marketing strategy.

  FRANÇOIS MAUGE

   Graphic Designer
François Mauge is a 3D graphic designer and illustrator with 15+ years of experience in motion design for TV and video games. At ORA, he creates immersive content, from educational games to exploration menus, and produces films to showcase the sphere’s capabilities. Passionate about science and sci-fi, he brings air and space to life through his visual storytelling.

  NISRINE OULALITE

   Graphic Designer
Nisrine Oulalite is a graphic and motion design apprentice at ORA, where she creates sphere animations and oversees visual content for social media. Trained at Gobelins after early experience in graphic design, she has worked on major campaigns for brands like L’Oréal and Dacia, as well as projects in the cultural and non-profit sectors.

  GILLES TOMBEUR

   Product Designer
Gilles Tombeur, interior architect and designer since 1997, studied at the École des Beaux-Arts de Marseille. After working on embassies and luxury lighting, he founded his own studio focused on restaurant and residential spaces. A former instructor at the Boulle School, he now brings his design expertise to ORA, where he developed the sphere’s projection system.

  ERIC MUNCH

   Sound Designer
A graduate of the Louis Lumière School of Sound, Éric Munch began in film and music before co-founding Son pour Son, where he mixed notable films including Jacques Tati’s Jour de Fête. After collaborations with Luc Jacquet (March of the Penguins), he developed Dolby Atmos and VR 360 at Virtuel Audio, innovations that led to the creation of the ORA sphere, a fully immersive, headset-free VR experience.

  FRÉDÉRIC PODETTI

   History-Geography Teacher
Frédéric Podetti is a teacher, filmmaker, and writer, trained at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales. He teaches History and Geography while directing documentaries and authoring works, including a novel on Marie-Anne Collot. At ORA, he brings his cultural expertise and narrative skills to enrich content and animation development.

  DAMIEN VALLO

   Scientific Content Manager
Damien Vallot, a Biology teacher specializing in Life and Earth Sciences, is dedicated to educational innovation. A content creator for Lelivrescolaire.fr and instructional designer on projects like Lavicebio, he ensures the scientific accuracy and pedagogical value of the content developed for the ORA sphere.
