Industry Education City / Country Paris, France ORA product ORA + 80 Exact location Inria laboratory |
In an Inria laboratory, an 80 cm ORA sphere serves as an experimentation platform. The institute runs a research program on display on curved screens and wanted a medium to explore the graphic possibilities offered by these particular geometries.
Inria is the French national research institute for digital science and technology. The only French public body fully dedicated to computational sciences, it brings together around 200 project teams and more than 3,900 researchers and engineers, often in collaboration with universities and industrial partners, and supports innovation all the way to the creation of deeptech startups.
An Inria laboratory, as a permanent installation. The 80 cm ORA sphere serves there as a research tool.
Inria runs a research program on display on curved screens and wanted a medium to explore the graphic possibilities usable on these particular geometries. The research currently focuses on rendering data and graphs on a spherical screen.
We delivered to Inria an interactive sphere together with a toolset that lets researchers interact directly with the graphics card, without having to redevelop the functions needed to test display on curved surfaces.

Inria now has an interactive sphere and a toolset that let its researchers directly test display on curved surfaces, without having to redevelop low-level functions, speeding up their experiments.
