In the science room of Collège Les Dînes Chiens, the ORA sphere turns the lecture into a collective exploration. Up to 10 students handle a 360° image together, spin and zoom into diagrams, and make tangible the concepts that are hard to picture, especially in science and geography.
Collège Les Dînes Chiens is a state secondary school in Chilly-Mazarin, in the Essonne, south-west of Paris (Versailles education authority). It teaches students from Year 7 to Year 10 and looks for teaching methods that keep learning alive and nurture curiosity.

Turn lectures into collective exploration and make abstract concepts tangible, especially in science and geography, where everything rests on the ability to picture what you can’t see: the inside of a cell, the shape of a continent, how a whole system works.
A 360° image projected on the sphere, a touch surface that up to 10 students handle at once, diagrams you spin and zoom. Among the content: the sphere of time (from Antiquity to the present day), the animated solar system, cartography, the study of the Earth and oceans (volcanoes, earthquakes, continental drift, ocean currents) and the evolution of the climate. A diagram becomes something you rotate, point at and explore together.
Attention and participation on the rise: lessons built around the sphere hold attention in a way the lecture format no longer could. It’s in biology and geography-history that the difference is clearest, with students more curious and more proactive. Beyond the results, it’s the return of curiosity and the pleasure of discovery that struck teachers most.
